Security

OUR PRIORITY IS YOUR SECURITY

Managing risk

Heli-skiing, as with all off-piste skiing, has it’s inherent risks. Even with careful management these risks are never completely eliminated, groups should; therefore be able to display their ability to deal with accident situations.

In case of accident, the group should conduct their own on-site transceiver search, first aid and evacuation by helicopter.

The evacuation route is to Marrakech Menara airport and then by ambulance to hospital in Marrakech.

In case of accident requiring more human and technical resources (search team, specific medical attention …) the helicopter will return to Marrakech to fly in the necessary resources.

Respect the rules

  • All riders have to wear full off-piste safety equipment (transceiver, ABS, shovel, probe)
  • Satellite phone link between the guide and the helicopter
  • First-aid equipment provided to instructor, guide, and helicopter
  • Complete briefing in transceiver searching and rescue techniques
  • Direct telephone connection with the hospital in Marrakech

Insurance

Personal accident insurance is mandatory and included in the basic package.

It covers the risks and supports the following charges:

  • Evacuation costs by helicopter from Marrakech Menara
  • Research costs incurred (transport helicopter, mobilizing support teams …)
  • Evacuation costs from the airport by ambulance to the hospital in Marrakech
  • Hospital in Marrakech
  • Repatriation (air + ambulance) to the hospital of choice of the casualty in their home country

This insurance does not include:

  • Air travel if the casualty returns on their original scheduled flight
  • Travel and visiting family
  • Care costs and hospitalisation in the country of origin
